Create avenues of self-employment for women from the weaker section of the society through various projects during the festive season.

We get cloth bags made under our eco-friendly “Go Green” project whereby the women make them, and we sell these bags thereby helping them to earn income for their family and day to day running.

For the past 4 years we have been making Utane – an ayurvedic scented powder- during Diwali and selling the same. The powder is made under strict supervision of one of our members who is an Ayurvedic doctor and is packed by women employees in her factory at Badlapur. This helps the women to generate income for their families.

Last year, was the first year where we started making different cloth bags, pouches and useful cloth articles from ladies those are needy and stitch well. We would continue to add more ladies who can stitch and would like to work for self-empowerment

We are making and selling almost 23 different items like corporate pouches, multipurpose pouches, compartment bags, aprons, shoulder bags with zips, Dhanya bags, sling bags etc. and have helped generate income for women under our “Sakhi Women Empowerment Project”

These items are showcased in various exhibitions held in and around Dombivli, Thane and Mumbai. The citizens are made aware of the objective under which these items are made, and they wholeheartedly purchase these items thereby contributing to the good work of Urjaa.

Through this project we make women financially independent by generating regular income through stitching, which also helps Urjaa to raise the funds which are utilized for different projects.
